Collingwood Downtown Farmers' Market

Every Saturday 8:30AM - 12:30PM

The market operates each Saturday morning in the heart of Collingwood’s historic downtown from the holiday weekend in May until Thanksgiving Weekend. It is located in the municipal parking lot at the corner of Second and Pine Streets and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Local vendors feature a wide range of organic vegetables and fruit, baking, meats and cheeses, flowers and trees, jams and preserves, handcrafted items and more. Special activities for the family, entertainment and artists from the Georgian Bay Arts and Crafts Association are featured each week.

After you visit the market, be sure to take a stroll through our historic downtown. The eclectic mix of shops, dining and professional services is the perfect blend to keep you family healthy, happy and stylin’. You’ll find the variety, quality and friendliness … outstanding!

The 16th Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival, the largest of its kind in Canada, will take place Thursday, July 22 – Sunday, July 25, 2010. The Collingwood Elvis Festival features some of the greatest Elvis tribute artists in the industry competing for the honor of participating in The 2010 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, held during the annual "Elvis Week" festivities in August at Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. It is the official Elvis tribute artist contest, presented by Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc.

More than two dozen shows starring the industry’s best Elvis tribute artists and a three-day competition with professional, non-professional, and youth categories. Also featured are a street dance, venue tour, vendor alley, parade, and midway. A broad ticket price range, from $8 to $70, has been set up to accommodate every budget and each member of the family. There are also free events available.

The Collingwood Elvis Festival continually seeks to improve the quality of the event while maintaining the same great programming that loyal festival attendees have come to expect over the years. The festival’s 16th Anniversary will celebrate the Champions of yesteryear. Visitors will be entertained by returning crowd favourites, Robin Kelly, Gino Monopoli, Jay Zanier, David Lee, Shon Carroll, Daylin James, Ben Klein, Roy LeBlanc, Ray Guillemette, Pete Paquette, David Muggeridge, Shawn Barry and more. Special appearances by internationally renowned Tribute Artist, Shawn Klush and fan favourite Stephen Kabakos are also featured throughout the weekend schedule.

This year promises to be every bit as exciting with many returning artists and some new faces. There will be plenty of time to stroll along and admire the tremendous creativity of our local artists.

Picnics and Performances, Thursday evenings, 7pm at the Nancy Island Historic site. The Schooner "Nancy" was a British supply vessel, and the only ship to survive the naval battle on Lake Erie which the British lost in 1812, but the Americans discovered the "Nancy" hidden away on the Nattawasaga River and subsequently sank her. The hull was salvaged in 1927 and today stands in front of the museum which tells the story of the War of 1812 and the three hundred years of navigation on Lake Superior. There is also a reconstruction of the engine room of a Great Lakes steamer.
